Employee Promotion and Transfer System – Activity Diagram
Draw an activity diagram for the Employee Promotion System (in the previous assignment). The activity diagram should model the main and alternative flows for the ‘Apply for Promotion’ use case:
1. At the beginning of the year, the manager shall activate the promotion system.
2. The system will notify the employee to enter their goals.
3. The employee shall enter her/his goals for the coming year. At the same time, the manager shall enter the expectations from the employee for the coming year.
4. The manager shall conduct an initial review of the employee's goals. If the goals are satisfactory and align with the expectations, then the manager confirms the goals. If the goals are unsatisfactory, then the manager will inform the employee to update the goals.
5. The employee shall be able to enter her/his achievements in the current year.
6. The manager shall be able to write her/his review.
7. The manager will evaluate the employee’s performance by entering a percentage between 0% - 100%.
8. If the evaluation is equal or above 80%, then the employee can apply for promotion if he/she didn’t receive a promotion in the past 3 years.
9. If the employee received a promotion in the past 3 years, and received a 100% evaluation, then he/she can still apply for promotion.
10. If the employee does not apply for promotion, the manager will ask the employee for the reasons.
11. If the employee is qualified to be promoted, the manager will recommend the promotion.
12. The director will approve or disapprove the promotion.
13. If the director approves the promotion, then the employee will be promoted and notified of the decision.
14. If the direction disapproves the promotion, then the employee will be notified of the decision.
15. If the employee receives an evaluation below 50%, then the manager will recommend the employee to be fired. The director shall accept or reject the manager’s recommendation.
· The employee can withdraw the promotion application at any time after applying but before the final approval from the director.
· Show the actors in the activity diagram (swimlanes).
